🕊️ The Disaster in Focus

  • Fatalities include 241 onboard and estimates suggest up to 24 additional deaths on the ground, including those in a medical‑college hostel where the plane crashed

  • Rescue work continues as authorities recover remains, conduct DNA testing, and retrieve wreckage and black box data

🔧 Investigation & Response

  • The AAIB (Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau) has launched a formal probe with technical teams from Boeing, the FAA/NTSB, and the UK AAIB assisting

  • Black boxes have been located, though details on whether both flight‑data and cockpit‑voice recorders are recovered remain pending

  • Boeing and the Tata Group (Air India’s owner) have offered full cooperation and support, including compensation and medical aid for victims’ families

🗓️ PM Modi’s Itinerary Highlights

    • Morning: Toured crash‑site in Meghaninagar.

    • Mid‑morning: Visited Civil Hospital to meet survivors and injured.
